Transfer Specialist Meeting Schedule
Transfer from RCTC: Counselors will assist you in planning for transfer to another college or university. In preparation for transfer, you should do the following:
- Have a program or major in mind as soon as possible. Prerequisites
for most majors can be completed in the first two years at RCTC. In
the Minnesota State College and University System, transfer students
can move about with relative ease.
- Discuss your plans with an RCTC Counselor
as early as you can.
- Complete transfer applications early. Many colleges
and majors require a fall semester application admission for the following
fall semester. Make certain you meet the application
deadlines!
- Be familiar with the pre-major requirements of transfer schools.
Colleges may have different preparatory requirements for the same
major.
- Call or visit your intended transfer college to obtain information
on transfer and majors, financial aid/scholarships, and housing.
- Obtain admissions criteria information for both the college
and the major. GPA or other requirements for admission
for a specific major may be different than admissions
criteria for the college.
- Make an appointment with a counselor, academic advisor, or faculty
advisor at the transfer college to discuss transfer requirements,
internships, and job placement.
- Arrange for a tour of their dormitory facilities. The condition
and living arrangements of dormitories may be a deciding factor in
selecting a transfer college.
- Arrange a follow-up appointment with an RCTC
counselor if you feel the need for further discussion or clarification
on transfer and/or program planning.
- RCTC offers many pathways to four year degrees offered through our partners here in Rochester. These pathways are listed at www.rctc.edu/catalog. Go to "Online Catalog" and scroll down to articulation Agreements, 2+2 Programs, etc.
Transfer specialists from the following colleges/universities will be on the RCTC campus in the Atrium during the following dates/times. If you are intending to transfer to any of these schools, this meeting is for you! Bring along a DARS report or copy of your transcript.
