RCTC's two-year law enforcement program leads to Post-Board certification. This internet site contains many links to law enforcement agencies throughout the country. Lots of employment-related information, job postings, message boards.

Nursing
If you are considering RCTC's Nursing program as a career choice, you should visit the American Nursing Association web site. Includes links to the American Nurse Credentialing Center, Online Journal of Issues in Nursing, nursing advocacy information. and other information relevant to nursing issues.

PreProfessional Skills Test (PPST)
The information and registration site for the academic competency test required for licensed teachers in Minnesota. Once you are on the home page use the "Praxis" link for registering on-line.

Radiography
American Society for Radiologic Technologists web site. Includes information on issues in radiography, employment, career, etc. A useful site for students considering RCTC's radiography program as a career choice.

Respiratory Care

Career Guide to Industries
The Career Guide to Industries provides information on available careers by industry, including the nature of the industry, working conditions, employment, occupations in the industry, training and advancement, earnings and benefits, employment outlook, and lists of organizations that can provide additional information. This edition of the Career Guide discusses over 42 industries, accounting for over 7 out of every 10 wage and salary jobs in 2000. The Career Guide is a companion to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, which provides information on careers from an occupational perspective.

College Net
Cool-looking site with an enormous searchable database of schools, plus links to the colleges.  Search variables include state or region, majors, and tuition.  The lack of a selectivity variable, however, means it may be tough to narrow the field.

Electronic Job Guide
Focuses on technical jobs, but includes areas for writers, financial positions, sales staff, even artists.  Also includes links to Sun Microsystems, Sybase, Oracle and other corporate sites.

Occupational Outlook Handbook
The Occupational Outlook Handbook is published by the U.S. Department of Labor and projects job openings in various categories for the next ten years.  Also covers training/education requirements, entry-level pay scale, work environment, and other work-related information.  A valuable snapshot of specific occupations and employment projections.

ONET
ONET provides detailed job descriptions, including skills, abilities, knowledge, and interests for over 950 occupations. It will also match occupations with a list of skills you possess or plan to acquire. The on-line version of the old "Dictionary of Occupational Titles", which is no longer published.
