1.  There are no particular safety hazards to studying economics or personal finance. Discipline yourself to study regularly and for short durations in good reading light and with a minimum of distractions.  Be careful not to burn yourself if you must open a printer, and take precautions against losing your work or your computer during an electrical storm or an electrical fluctuation or power outage.  Have a backup plan in place when such emergencies occur.

Seek shelter below ground in building basements, interior corridors, or restrooms.

Keep away from windows/doors to avoid shattering glass. Emergency supplies are located in each building basement.
