Students earn electronic
participation points in three ways: |
| 1. |
Participate in three Team Presentations using directions
found under items
3. ,
5. , or
7.
Alternatively,
write
issue-papers, provide them to classmates for review,
and, with each issue-paper, review the issues papers of
two fellow classmates. If you choose to write
individual issue-papers, follow the guidance
found under
item
9.
on
the issue-papers link on
the
How To Prepare link
found on the red
Need-to-Know
menu of the
Syllabus
link.
|
| 2. |
Communicate with your fellow students in BlackBoard's
Discussion Group during each lesson plan scheduled on
your 15-Module Calendar. Ask questions of one
another, and provide answers to each other that are
consistent with the guidance on these web pages.
(As your instructor, I can measure the frequency with
which you discuss your problems, course objectives,
presentations, and issue-papers with your fellow
students.) |
| 3. |
In addition, raise your frequency count using BlackBoard
by opening every link within the 15-Module Calendar, the
Syllabus, the course website, the instructor website,
and MyEconLab. The best way to discover what is
under each link is to examine it for yourself, and then
to share that information with others. |

(Students can
lose
electronic participation points in three ways:) |
| 1. |
Failure to click (open) the
links to the daily class outlines and to their component
parts can cost you points.
As an instructor, I can measure
when and how often you visit the many web pages and
links that I created for you.
You can lose up to 25 course points
for failure to visit the course web pages.
|
| 2. |
Failure to check the course
announcements page regularly for any changes, updates,
or recent information can cost you points.
BlackBoard can go down on short
notice; use Internet Explorer and
http://www.ph.vccs.edu/eco
(my instructor web page) during periods when BlackBoard
is out of service.
You can lose up to 25 course points
for failure to check the course announcements regularly
for any changes, updates, or recent course information.
|
| 3. |
Failure to stay in regular touch with your instructor
using BlackBoard email, and failure to use the following
email courtesy can cost you points.
Mention the course you are
taking in the subject and in the body of every email
message, because your instructor teaches students in
several courses in economics, psychology, and political
science.
You can lose up to 25 course points
for failure to use BlackBoard email effectively,
including failure to identify the course you are
enrolled in when corresponding with the instructor.
