The purpose of this assignment is to aid you in the analysis of your audience. You are to prepare a questionnaire designed to examine and measure your audience's current knowledge relevant to your informative speech topic. You will thoughtfully prepare and distribute, during class time, a survey that contains:

1. A question that measures current interest in your topic choice.

For example: How interested would you be in the topic of tattoos?

2. Question designed to measure a degree of knowledge about your topic.

For example: How much do you know about the art form of tattoos?

3. Open-ended question designed to explore any unanswered questions of your audience and may reveal important defining information for your speech.

For example: What specifically would you be interested in learning about the art of Tattoos? History? Cultural background? process?, safety factors, social tolerance? None of these?

After administration of your survey answer the following questions and hand in the day of your speech.

1. Report/Analyze the results of your survey. What questions did you ask (one copy of your survey) and a summary of the results for each question.

2. What did you infer about your listeners as a result of your survey results?

3. How did the information you gained influence the information used and organization of your informative speech?

4. How, will you/did you, use this information to tie into your audience's interests concerning your topic?
