What: Lecture by Fan Shen and we will discuss ideas on
how to integrate the common book on campus
Description:
Join us as we continue our CTL-sponsored discussion of RCTC's
2004-2006 Common Book, Gang of One: Memoirs of a Red Guard.
During this session we will first explore the major themes of
this remarkable book as Dr. Shen shares an overview of his amazing
life experiences. We will then turn to a more informal format
as we brainstorm ways to use the common book throughout campus.
Finally we will share resources for teaching and learning from
the 2004-2006 Common Book. Whether you have had an opportunity
to read Fan Shen's book yet or not, you will walk away from
this session amazed with the ethical dilemmas Fan faced throughout
his life in China, astonished by the life-threatening experiences
and political pressures he endured, and uplifted by the life-lessons
he has to share. (If that's not enough…we will also draw
