ILL service is limited to the faculty, staff & students of RCTC and WSUR.
The library staff no longer notifies patrons when their interlibrary loan materials arrive. Patrons may track the status of requests themselves by checking their patron record. Items which have arrived can then be picked up at the circulation desk in Goddard Library. Please call the library at (507) 285-7233 if you have any questions or are unable to access your patron record.
Interlibrary Loan Policy for Goddard Library
- We will not request any item in Goddard Library's Collection, unless the book is lost or we are missing the periodical issue.
- Interlibrary Loan service is limited to the staff & students of RCTC, WSUR.
- The loan period for materials is established by the lending library. In most cases the loan period for books will be 28 days. Some items can be renewed; however, that decision is made by the lending library. To renew click here.
- Many libraries will not lend nonprint materials such as videotapes, sound recordings, etc. Please check the status of your ILL request to see if the lending library will lend the item.
- If you request either textbooks or best sellers, you have less chance of receiving them.
- ALL papers and forms have to remain with your requested item. If you have two or more items, please do not remove the papers from them (you can easily put the wrong forms in the wrong item). Goddard Library and the lending library need these forms to process the items.
- The due date of the item is the date the item is due back to the lending library, not back to Goddard Library. You are responsible for returning the item to Goddard Library three days before the due date.
- Requests for paper formats of items which Goddard Library owns in a microform format will not be honored.
- Only requests received via PALS, MINITEX, or OCLC will be honored. Faxed copies of these forms can be sent to 507-281-7772.
- FAXING of Interlibrary Loan Requests is done at the discretion of the Interlibrary Loan Department.
- Replacement costs for lost Interlibrary Loan materials are set by the lending library.
- Interlibrary Loan requests received for on-line full text articles will not be honored unless the patron needs illustrations (charts, statistics, etc.) not included on-line; a hard copy of the article will be ordered. This will be done at the Departments discretion. When transmitting a request for a full-text hard copy we must comply with the copyright regulations.
