Electronic Resources
& Online Catalog

MnPALS - is the Library's online catalog of books, journals, videos, and other materials that are physically located in the library. To access either on or off-campus, from the library's homepage http://www.roch.edu/library click on "Library Catalog."

Article Databases - Goddard Library subscribes to over 40 databases. For a complete listing, click on our "Article Databases" webpage http://www.roch.edu/library/articledatabases.html. Off-campus access is available to current UCR faculty and currently enrolled UCR students. For off-campus access, visit our "Remote Access" page for details http://www.roch.edu/library/proxy.php

Trial Databases - Throughout the year, the Library tests various databases to see if they are relevant for the UCR academic community. We encourage UCR faculty and students to use these databases and to give us feedback. Current databases on trial are Available from the "Trial Databases" webpage http://www.roch.edu/library/trials.php

Remote Access to the Library's Electronic Resources Off-campus access to the library's electronic resources is available to current UCR faculty and currently enrolled UCR students. Library Instruction

Goddard Library offers instructional sessions for students, staff and faculty of UCR. For more information, please contact the library at (507) 285 - 723.

Information Studies 1115 - Periodically, Goddard Library offers a 1-credit "Introduction to Information Literacy" course. The course will focus on how information is organized, search strategies, the research process, and how to critically evaluate information.

Reserves & Videos Reserve materials are required readings or other materials for courses which are kept at the Circulation Counter. The materials have short loan periods so that all of the students in a class can use the materials. To place materials on reserve yon can contact the library at (507) 285 - 7233 or complete the online request form.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Books, videos, and other materials not held by Goddard Library may be requested through the WebPals online catalog, or from our interlibrary loan request form under "Submitting a Request" http://www.roch.edu/library/ill.php#Submit

It takes approximately 5 working days for materials to arrive. The Library no longer notifies patrons when ILL material arrives. To monitor your requests, under the Library's ILL webpage click on "Track the Status of Your Requests" http://www.roch.edu/library/ill.php#Tracking

Lending Periods UCR faculty can check Goddard Library books out for 28 days with up to 2 renewals at 28 days each. Music CDs have a 1 week loan period and videos have a 24 hour loan period. Only faculty are allowed to take videos outside the library.
Renewing Materials Goddard Library books can be renewed electronically in the library Catalog. To renew ILL books, please visit or contact the library (507-285-7233).
Purchase Recommendations Each discipline has a faculty librarian who selects print and electronic materials for inclusion in the library's collections. Please contact the Goddard Librarian who collects in your subject area by checking under the "Library Faculty & Staff" webpage http://www.roch.edu/library/staff.php
