Electronic Resources |
MnPALS - is the Library's online catalog of books, journals, videos, and other materials that are physically located in the library. To access either on or off-campus, from the library's homepage click on the "Find Books & More" tab. Article Databases - Goddard Library subscribes to over 80 databases. For a complete listing, click on the "Find Articles & More" tab, then choose "Databases by Title". Off-campus access is available to current UCR faculty and currently enrolled UCR students. Trial Databases - Throughout the year, the Library tests various databases to see if they are relevant for the UCR academic community. We encourage UCR faculty, staff, and students to use these databases and to give us feedback. Choose the "Find Articles & More" tab, then "Trial Database Offerings" |

| Remote Access to the Library's Electronic Resources | Off-campus access to the library's electronic resources is available to current UCR faculty, staff, and currently enrolled UCR students. For instructions on how to access these resources, please choose the "Off-Campus Access" tab from the library's homepage. |
| Library Instruction | Goddard Library offers instructional sessions for students, staff and faculty of UCR. For more information, please contact the library at (507) 285 - 7233. An online Instruction Request Form is located under "Faculty Resources" tab. Information Studies 1115 - Periodically, Goddard Library offers a 1-credit "Introduction to Information Literacy" course. The course focuses on how information is organized, search strategies, the research process, and how to critically evaluate information. |
| Course Reserves | Reserve materials are required readings or other materials for courses which are kept at the Circulation Counter. The materials have short loan periods so that all students in a class have access. To place materials on reserve, contact the library at (507) 285 - 7233 or complete the online request form. |
| Interlibrary Loan (ILL) |
Books, videos, articles, and other materials not held by Goddard Library may be requested through the MnPALS online catalog, or from our "Interlibrary Loan" tab choose "Submitting a Request" It takes approximately 5 working days for materials to arrive. To monitor your requests, choose "Access Your Account" tab from the library's homepage. Log in with your UCR ID card barcode number.The "ILL Requests" tab allow you to check the status of your requests. |
| Lending Periods | UCR faculty and staff may borrow Goddard Library books for 28 days with up to 2 renewals at 28 days each. |
| Renewing Materials | Goddard Library books can be renewed electronically by accessing your account. Choose "Access Your Account" tab. Log in with your UCR ID card barcode number. Use the "Checked Out Items" tab to renew books. To renew ILL books, please visit or contact the library (507-285-7233). |
| Purchase Recommendations | Each discipline has a faculty librarian who selects print and electronic materials for inclusion in the library's collections. Choose "Faculty & Staff" under the "About Goddard Library" tab to find which librarian to contact. |
| Library Hours | Hours during Fall and Spring semesters are: M - TR 7:30 - 10:00 F 7:30 - 4:30 Sat 9:00 - 5:00 Sun 1:00 - 5:00. Summer and holiday hours vary. Current hours may be found by choosing the "About Goddard Library" tab and then choosing "Hours". |
