- Periodicals
- Goddard Library subscribes to more than 700 print periodical titles.
Periodicals cannot be checked out of the libraries. Photocopy machines are available
for patron use. The Library also subscribes to several electronic resources
that provide full-text articles from a variety of periodicals. The Periodical
Holdings List contains information for both our print and electronic collections.

Reference Collection
-
Reference books, used often for consultation and research, are designated
by "Ref" above the call number on the spine. These books do not circulate
from the library.

Course Reserves
-
UCR faculty may place materials in special demand on reserve. Reserve materials
must be requested at the Circulation desk. Loan periods are determined
by the faculty.

Nonprint Collections

The Library has a collection of nonprint materials. All materials can be
found on the WebPals online catalog. Nonprint materials should be requested
at the Circulation desk.

Microform Collections
-
Many of the Library's periodicals, newspapers, and ERIC documents are available
only on microfilm or microfiche. The microfilm and microfiche holdings
are indicated in the Periodicals Holding List.

Pamphlet Collection
-
Pamphlets and clippings on current topics are filed by subject in vertical
file cabinets near the center staircase. Pamphlet material may be checked
out at the Circulation desk and should be returned within one week.

College Teaching Professional
Collection (CTPC)

These books are from the 1990s and they tend to have a practical and cross-disciplinary
emphasis. The CTPC focuses on teaching as an individual profession, not
on college as a social institution. You can retrieve these books by going
to Goddard Library Books, Media and using "CTPC" as a keyword search.

Minnesota Technology Collection

The Minnesota Technology Collection is purchased by Minnesota Technology,
Inc. and is housed in Goddard Library. The collection includes, materials
on quality control, plant operation, organizational management, etc. Only
Minnesota Technology Collection members may take these materials out of
the library. To obtain a library card send e-mail to Kathleen Murphy or
call her at (507)285-7184. Information about the collection can be obtained
by searching the library's catalog, by calling (507)285-7233 or sending
e-mail to Goddard Library. To search the Minnesota Technology Collection,
at the library's homepage click on Goddard Library Books, Media then submit
a keyword search by entering Minnesota Technology Collection. RCTC/UCR
students may use these materials in Goddard Library.
