Wireless Internet AccessThe University Center Rochester has wireless Internet access available for to all student, staff and faculty. This access is available in most areas of the campus through the use of 802.11 b and 802.11 g access points. At this time the wireless network does not support 802.11 a type access cards.
*Note: Do not change the default settings for this connection as changing these values may disrupt your connection.
If you are having problems connecting to the wireless network make sure you are in range of a wireless access point. If you are within range but you are not able to connect usually restarting the computer will resolve the problem. If that does not resolve the problem make sure that you have not accidentally disabled your wireless card or turned your antenna off. If you continue to have issues connecting to the wireless network go to the computer Technology Support Center located in GL108 for further information. Just remember UCR does not support personal laptops.
If you do not have a wireless card, but need access to the Internet with your laptop, Ethernet jacks are available in some locations around campus (such as Goddard Library) which can get you access to the Internet.
