After your web account has been activated, not only do you have the ability to publish to your individual web space, but you can also access the Internet from a home computer for no monthy fee via UCR Internet dial-up; also called UCR Remote Access.
UCR Remote Access service, which is a 56K connection, is similar to what you would get if you received Internet service from an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Minimum requirements for using UCR Remote Access include:
Note: Your Remote Access password is the same as the password for publishing to your individual web account. If you already publish to a web account, then use the same password to remotely access the new dial-in server. If you don't know your password, contact the Web Manager (2724) and indicate to them that you would like to set an initial password for web publishing. Your password for these services (including logging into the UCR Intranet server) can be changed by contacting the Web Manager.
However: Your username for Remote Access is different than your username for publishing to the web. The username for Remote Access is your UCR e-mail address (ex. howe.izzut@roch.edu) whereas your username for publishing to the web is your first initial and last name (ex. hizzut)
