Student Logins

 

Before students use any of the computer resources available at University Center Rochester, they must read and understand the Student Guidelines for Electronic Communication.

Student Logins (User ID)

All students will have individual login accounts in order to use campus computers and access the network in computer labs. Login accounts are created within one business day after registrations. NOTE: Your network login and email will remain active until 10 days into the next semester and will be deleted if you are no longer an RCTC student. Student Email /Network Login Password Reset

Student E-mail Accounts

e mailAll students will receive e-mail accounts through the college. The format for the e-mail addresses will be username@mb.rctc.edu. For example, John Johnson would have an e-mail address of jjohns@mb.rctc.edu. The second user with the name John Johson would have an e-mail address of jjohns1@mb.rctc.edu. The e-mail password is the same as your login password for the computer labs. E-mail can be accessed via the Internet. More details about student email accounts...


To find your Student Login (User ID) and E-mail address...

Use a web browser and go to http://www.rctc.edu/directory . Click on "Search and Sort"along the left side and select "Tech ID". Enter your Stinger ID into the "Search Value" text box then click on "Search". The result of the search will show your user id and email address.Fill your userID in on the blank line below.

Logout from the computer you are on and move to the next step for logging into the network under your userID.

Network Login:

  1. Set LOCATION to RCTC Student using the pull-down menu
  2. Enter your userID ________(To find userID, go to http://www.rctc.edu/directory , search by last\first name or stinger ID)
  3. Enter your initial password
    1. First try your birth date using the format YYYYMMDD
    2. If that doesn't work try 99999999
    3. If neither of these work go to GL108 with your picture id and request that your password be reset.
  4. When you are finished with your session be sure you log out or restart. If you stay logged in the next person using that workstation will have full access to your account.

Your userID and password to log into campus computers is the same as for email and D2L. Please be aware that if you change passwords in one, it also changes for the others.

 

Student Email/Network Log in Password Reset You will need to know your stinger number as well as your pin number from the web portal (where you registered for classes).
