Dial-up instructions for Windows 2000:


SUMMARY

This article describes how to configure Windows2000, Dial-Up Networking (DUN) to connect to your Internet Service Provider (ISP). NOTE: The procedure in this article assumes you have a web account with UCR or some other ISP. Your ISP provides the PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol, a method of connecting a computer to the internet) protocol for dial-up connections.


  1. Go to the Start button in the lower left corner
  2. Select Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections

 

Select Make New Connection in the Network and Dial-up Connections window.

 

Follow the Steps for the Network Connection Wizard

 

Select "Dial-up to the Internet".

 

Select "I want to set up my Internet connection manually". Click "Next".

 

Click "Next" to detect your modem.

Follow the steps in the Wizard

Remember your user ID is your UCR email address,

your password is that of your web account

and the dial in number is 529-2760.
