Overview
RCTC is the oldest community college in Minnesota with roots dating
back to 1915. Our mission is to provide accessible, affordable
educational opportunities to meet the needs of a diverse community.
Our
Students
The college enrolls approximately 6,000 students annually in credit-based
programs. Another 10,000 are served in noncredit and credit-based
workforce initiatives.
Programs
RCTC offers over 65 programs of study with approximately 100 credential
options in nursing and allied health, accounting and business, sciences
and technical, public and human services and liberal arts programming.
RCTC, in partnership with Winona State University, offers
twelve "2 plus 2" programs. Additionally, RCTC offers two
"2 plus 2" programs with the University of Minnesota with several
others in development.

The University of Minnesota Rochester (UMR) extends the educational
resources of the University of Minnesota to Southeastern Minnesota.
UMR is proud to be part of the University of Minnesota, a world-class
research institution.
Overview
UMR has been providing quality higher education to the residents
of Southeastern Minnesota in Rochester since 1966.
Our
Students
UMR serves approximately 1,000 students annually in credit and
noncredit educational programs. Most UMR students are working
toward a degree and are also employed full-time. Many of UMR's
courses are offered during the evenings to accommodate working adults'
busy schedules.
Programs
UMR currently offers 16 graduate degrees, four baccalaureate, and
seven post-baccalaureate programs with new programs being developed.
UMR's credit courses carry University of Minnesota credit and are
taught by U of M faculty. UMR offers a wide variety of learning
opportunities to fulfill degree requirements, provide professional
updating, or respond to personal interests. In the summer,
many education courses are offered during the day to fit teachers'
schedules. A number of courses are taught by instructional
television broadcast from the Twin Cities campus.

Winona State University-Rochester Center is a dynamic learning
community that provides rigorous, high quality baccalaureate and
graduate education opportunities to students. The presence
of WSU Rochester Center's thirty-eight residential faculty located
in Rochester is evidence of its strong commitment to serving the
community and region.
Overview
Winona State University, founded in 1860, is the oldest State University
west of the Mississippi. For more than 80 years WSU has delivered
quality higher education in Rochester and the surrounding area.
Our
Students
Winona State University-Rochester Center serves over 1,500 students
annually in undergraduate and graduate education.
Programs
Winona State University-Rochester Center has a formal transfer
agreement with Rochester Community and Technical College known as
the "2 Plus 2" program and covers twelve baccalaureate majors.
Students complete the first two years at RCTC, then the second two
years at Winona State University. Thirteen different
graduate programs within six graduate degrees are offered at the
Rochester Center. These include a joint master's level program
in Nurse Anesthesia with the Mayo Clinic and a joint master's level
program in education and nursing with the University of Minnesota.
