HIST 1611 The Ancient World
This course will begin with a survey of ancient near Eastern, Egyptian, Indian and Chinese civilizations and then describe the development of the Greek world. A study of the Roman Republic and Empire and its relations with the world around it will end the course. The religion, philosophy and political development of each of these civilizations will be included to provide a flavor of their background and unique culture.
