What's my role at RCTC?
Although my initial appointment and principal career at RCTC was in French, in Fall 2003 I also became the German instructor, an adjunct position which I continue to enjoy. Students have been the focus of my career. RCTC students voted me the Phi Theta Kappa "Outstanding Teacher of the Year" for 1998-99, an award which I prize above any other. Hearing from and staying connected to former students is one of the real rewards of teaching. The Haiti webpage linked to this site is the result of my Spring 2001 sabbatical in Haiti, where the official language is French and the most widespread language is Creole. You will find photos and diary entries from the month I spent teaching English at the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in the tiny village of Deschapelles.
