The Computer Art and Design option is designed to fulfill the first two years of course requirements for students interested in a career as graphic designers or artists using computer technology. The art courses have been selected to provide students with technical skills in the use of the computer to create both graphic design for visual communication and as an expressive tool for the fine artist. Activities include: Hands-on computer training, software selection and use Utilization of traditional graphic design tools, skills and materials Individual style development through creative problem solving Development of a professional portfolio Defining roles and career options through visits to graphic arts businesses and schools There are serveral degree and certificate options for students including: Associate in Science Degree in Computer Art or Graphic Design; Associate in Arts, Pre-computer Transfer curriculum; Computer Graphics Certificate; Graphic Design Certificate. And students may now take the Computer Graphics Certificate completely on-line. This means that you work on your computer with an internet connection and submit your work to an on-line gallery.
