RCTC people attending. AACC on simultaneously. Please use
personal development funds first, then additional expenses
may be supplemented with ASL funds.
Change
of meeting time comments: new time agreed to be better by
those attending.
Anne and
Jaime met with Health Unit Coordinator Program Leader developed
core competencies. They hope to develop for eLumen.
Horticulture
meeting: 8am on Friday. Potential issues with eLumen: time
to learn at the faculty level.
Business
Department: received grant, currently developing a common
rubric. Have advisory board meeting twice per year--next meeting
end of April to define top 2 or 3 “ethics” items
to be taught to students.
Digital
Arts: grant application in: currently assessing courses, but
no core competency identified.
Foreign
Language and Speech: established some core competencies (Speech
established, Methods, on D2L, have yet to move to eLumen)
SSI: questions
to be added to survey. Must be statements fitting for Importance
Scale and Satisfaction Scale. Suggestions:
• Break q53 into Eng, Math, Reading (“The assessment
and course placement procedures [for Reading; for Math; for
English] are reasonable”)
• My instructor(s) talk to me about the assessment of
my learning in terms other than test scores.
• I can demonstrate clearly what I learned in my classes
rather than just show a grade.
• I can articulate the learning outcomes of my classes.
• I am aware of the expected learning outcomes in my
classes.
• I am able to demonstrate my learning.
• Assessment (independent of the grades I received)
of my learning outcomes is important to my classroom experience.
• My instructor(s) talked to me about assessment other
than grading.
• My instructors talk to me about assessment in terms
other than "grades."
• My instructors seek/use feedback from students.
• I am provided opportunities to give input to my teachers.
• My teacher(s) modify teaching methods to help me meet
my learning outcomes.
• My teachers modify teaching methods to match my learning
needs.
• q66: (“Program requirements are clear and reasonable”)
• Resources are available to help me meet my learning
goals.
• I am aware of mechanisms used in my classes to maximize
my expected learning outcomes.
