Assessment of Student Learning Committee

Updates:

The completed Call for Proposals for the second round of ASL/FIDG was made available to faculty and has a deadline of December 9th. The FIDG awards may not exceed $1500 and all of the work must be completed before May 15, 2006. The committee will be called upon to review the proposals and recommend funding allocations.

Discussions/Decisions:

The committee members summarized the results of their assessment conversations with the groups that they interviewed for the Progress Reports. There were several shared concerns.
1) Some groups perceive their assessment work to be completed with a single project instead of viewing assessment as an integral, ongoing part of their work.
2) Although eLumen has not functioned as smoothly or effectively as planned, many groups would be disappointed if it were to be removed. In contrast, other groups are well aware that eLumen is associated with assessment but they do not understand its purpose.
