Updates:
•
Six FIDG/ASL grants representing four departments (English,
Foreign Language, Math, and Social Science) were award in
October 2005. A matrix outlining a brief summary, funding
allocations and estimated completion dates was distributed.

Four committee members (Mike Bequette, Teresa Brown, Jessie
Martinez, Jaime Malcore) attended the Higher Learning Commission
(HLC) October Assessment Retreat. Highlights on the restructuring
of assessment criteria were shared. This information will
also be shared at the up-coming Program Coordinator meeting.
Discussions/Decisions:
•
The committee decided to offer a second round of FIDG/ASL
grants with the remaining $4,400 FIDG funds. It was recommended
that grant application forms be available mid-November with
awards made before the end of the semester. Teresa and Tammy
will draft the application form and send a DRAFT application
for committee members to review.
•
ASL “Hot Topics” developed at the September meeting
were reviewed. Each Committee member agreed to visit with
two programs/departments to discuss progress on assessment
initiatives. The committee member will bring back to the November
meeting issues and concerns departments would like the assessment
committee to help address. Tammy and Teresa will develop a
template to help facilitate these discussions. A DRAFT template
will be distributed to committee members for review within
the next week.
