Assessment Pilot Updates
The Math Department met with David Shupe and outlined their headings in the software matrix. They have data from the pilot project but it was not able to be entered due to software glitches. David Shupe is working on the software and data will be entered when it is fixed.

The English Department had their initial meeting with David Shupe. He will be assisting them in outlining their matrix headings. The department is waiting for their data from ACT.

The Dental Hygiene Department has identified their fields but have not met with David Shupe to enter data. They will meet with him once the software is operable.

Upcoming Conferences
AAHE Assessment Conference (June, 2003): Marilyn Treder, Don Baldus, Teresa Brown, Tammy Lee and Anne High have had presentation proposals accepted for the conference. The committee recommends that eight (8) people be approved to attend the conference. In addition to the five speakers, it is recommended that one administrator and two faculty from summer pilot programs attend.

Judy Harris will be bringing this recommendation to the Leadership Council for approval. The budget would allow for funding of the conference.

Staff Development Day (March 7, 2003)
The committee reviewed the agenda and synopsis for the March 7, 2003 Staff Development Day. Peggy Maki, Director of Assessment for AAHE, is presenting a general session for faculty and staff. She will be presenting three breakout sessions for faculty during the late morning and afternoon. The committee liked the session topics and looks forward to gaining insight from Peggy regarding the RCTC pilot projects.

Pilot project faculty are asked to attend the breakout sessions and share their experiences with other faculty. Anne will be contacting Peggy and asking her to bring some other college “best practice” models to share with faculty.

Tammy will schedule room HB117 for the breakout sessions.

Next Meeting:

The committee’s charges for the next meeting are to develop an “Assessment Communications” plan, continue planning for the AAHE Assessment Conference, review March 7, 2003 feedback and discuss the “Levels of Implementation”.
