COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is an introductory survey of the art of the ancient world. We will examine the architecture, sculpture and painting of many important periods and civilizations of the past, including: pre-historic art, the art of Egypt and the ancient Near East, Aegean Art, Greek Art, Roman Art, Early Christian Art, Islamic Art, Byzantine art, Romanesque Art and Gothic Art.
